The Flanders’ or red poppy has become a symbol of war remembrance around the world since the Great War (1914–18) as the red poppy was one of the first plants to grow and bloom on battlefields in the Belgian region of Flanders.
Today, people in many countries wear the poppy to remember those who died in war or are serving in the armed forces. In New Zealand, the poppy is most commonly seen on Anzac Day, which falls on 25 April.

Note: 20% of the purchase of a red poppy lapel pin will be donated to the Rolleston branch of the Returned Services Association.

These poppy lapel pins are individually cast from powdered glass using a technique known as pâte-de-verre. Pate-de-verre means “paste of glass.” This process creates three-dimensional items in glass without the use of high-temperature molds. The glass layers are then fused together at around 700C °C, creating kiln-formed fused glass.

Light and easy to wear, each lapel pin is individually made, so your pin is truly one of a kind. Due to its handmade nature, your jewellery may have small imperfections and irregularities. This is perfectly normal and should in no way affect the function or life of your item.
